Opportunity Description

Zax Bakeshop is a French-inspired artisan bakery specializing in handcrafted pastries, breads, and desserts made from scratch daily. Owned and operated by Culinary Institute of America–trained baker Zach Morgart, the shop focuses on traditional techniques, high-quality ingredients, and small-batch production. Known for items like croissants, macarons, and rotating seasonal pastries, the bakery has built a strong local following by emphasizing consistency, presentation, and attention to detail. Each product reflects a hands-on approach where quality and execution matter at every step, from early morning prep through final display.

As a Summer 2026 Baking & Pastry Intern, you will work directly with the owner in a working bakery environment, gaining hands-on experience in daily production and kitchen operations. This internship is designed to build confidence in core baking skills while exposing you to the pace and standards required in a commercial setting. You will develop a stronger understanding of preparation, consistency, and timing while working on real products that are sold to customers each day. Over the course of the internship, you will improve your speed, accuracy, and comfort in the kitchen while gaining practical experience that supports future work in the baking and pastry field.
